Home Renovation
We are still in the midst of chaos here. I can’t wait for it to be over. Charlie and Ruby are doing amazingly well considering all the clutter and strangers in their midst. Its actually just one contractor mostly. He is doing it all himself. Charlie hardly ever bites him anymore and Ruby gives him her welcoming short hign pitched bark/bay when he arrives in the morning. Charlie is very protective and strives to be a guard dog. He just gives little nips to the ankles of any stranger who comes here, as long as we are here too. According t the contractor, the one time he entered when we were not here, Charlie put his head down low, gave a menacing stare, became very large with bristling fur, but did not attack. When I came home, Charlie rushed to my side with his expression of guilt, like when he has done something bad while we were out. I could swear he was telling me: “I let him in, it was a close decision, I hope you are OK with it. If not, I am terribly sorry.”
Keesmoms blog
If you come to this blog occasionally, you will see that I have not posted much recently. In part this is due to home renovations keeping me under stress. Then there is my friend in Japan. They have just gone through a devastating earthquake and tsunami, as you know. She may have stopped blogging for a few days during that time, but is right back at it now. It is so good to see that she and her family, especially her Keeshonds Leo and Jade are doing well. I recommend you check her blog out – just press the “read in English” buttons and enjoy the pictures of Leo and Jade. http://keeleojay.blog64.fc2.com/

Are you special enough?
I think it takes a very special person to adopt a blind dog. Any adopted dog can require a lot of dedication and retraining. Imagine if you add blindness to the challenge. I can only pray that there is someone out there who is up to the challenge.
Stitch is an 8-year-old beagle mix who was given up to a shelter by an owner whose declining health forced her to relinquish him. He was moved from shelter to shelter before arriving at his current foster home in Quakertown, Pa.
Stitch is blind, and although he has well-developed senses of smell and hearing, he needs a loving and devoted owner to patiently acclimate him to a new home. He is able to navigate his foster home and go up and down stairs. Stitch is good with other dogs. He has been neutered and is up-to-date on all shots.

Pickles: Keeshond Mix In NJ Needs Help
Animal Welfare Association, Voorhees, NJ
- 856-424-2288
If you are experienced, or are able to provide for proper rehabilitation for Pickles, I know he would be worth the effort. He is deteriorating daily in the shelter. The shelter staff will transport in the region, if at all possible. Is there any way we in the Keeshond community can help him? Please share with others who may be able to. Based on appearance, may be purebred Keeshond.
If you know Keeshonds, you know they need constant love and, and – OK, nevermind – the truth is all they need is love and a family to be a part of. I will bet you that Pickles loses all his bad traits soon after finding out that he is loved and wanted.
